Originally built in the 1930s, the Midland Hotel was once a favourite haunt of celebrities like Coco Chanel, Wallace Simpson and Lawrence Olivier. It re-opened in June 2008 following a £10m restoration project by Urban Splash.

Working closely with the architect Union North, a new subtle brand was created for the hotel, using a palette of colours inspired by the interior design. Items designed and produced included stationery, various menus, bill holder, room directory, key card, luggage tags, notepad and pencil, pre-opening brochure, signage, spa graphics and a website.
